Mad Scientist is the story of a disenchanted alien exo-biologist. He decides that he must abandon everything to attempt something evolution always seems to fail at accomplishing. He will engineer synthetic lifeforms in an effort to give rise to a stable intelligent species that does not self-destruct in the acquisition of advanced technology or destroy itself as a result of the unpredictable forces that blind evolution imposes. He exiles himself to a solitary existence, forsaking the possibility of rejoining his own people and skating across the sea of galactic time to pursue his quest.
